The Official Vault Dweller's Advent Calendar by Insight Editions

Updated: Jun 21, 2022

OKAY SO LIKE I originally found out about this randomly searching for Fallout merch on Amazon earlier this summer (...like I usually do haha), but the other week the amazing folks at Insight Editions reached out to me and wanted to send me one 😲💖 like whaaaaat no way!! I'll also be doing a YouTube video, but that will follow soon as editing videos takes forever y'all. I promise it's on the way, I'll edit this post once it's up on my channel!

So huge thank you to Insight Editions for making this possible, I'm also an affiliate so if you use my link to shop their site I'll earn a commission if you follow through with a purchase, even just clicking on my affiliate links helps me out a ton and I appreciate any form of support so thank you very much!! 🙇‍♀️💖

Hi! This is your warning that this blog post will contain spoilers~

This is currently for pre-order directly through Insight Editions and Amazon, note that both links are affiliate links~ expect to pay about $29.99, with an ETA of October 19, 2021. I do believe certain retailers will also be carrying these in store, I'll say GameStop for sure as they've previously carried other Insight Editions products like the Fallout journals, so I'm keeping an eye out! If you spot them in store be sure to let me know!

Here's the advent calendar in all its glory, with my trusty Vault Boy Funko Pop! figure for scale but the actual measurements are as follows: 10"L x 5/8"W x 14 1/4"H and it's hardcover. It's basically an oversized hardcover book, I dunno why but for some reason I thought it was going to be a box?? 😅 Also, here's what the back of the advent calendar says:

Open up your very own vault of surprises! Fallout: The Official Vault Dweller's Advent Calendar features 25 days of surprises and unique keepsakes ranging from fun paper ornaments to recipe cards, mini books, and more inspired by the award-winning video game series. The perfect gift for gamers, Lone Wanderers, and Sole Survivors alike, Fallout: The Official Vault Dweller's Advent Calendar is a great way to make this year's holiday festivities extra-special!

Here's a quick look at the inside, containing 25 ~*~sealed~*~ envelopes, so one for each day in December leading up to Christmas Day.

Here's a closer look at the closure for each envelope, it's some kind of gummy-ish adhesive? Who knows what this is leave a comment and let me know!! 😅 The top part of each envelope can easily be opened without damage (...unless you wanna rip through these, that's your choice) if you carefully start from one side and slowly peel it in the other direction. I hope that makes sense?! But also, how funny is this snowman with Vault Boy's face on it haha.

Hi, this is your second warning to not proceed if you don't wanna be spoiled.

Here's a super quick overview of each day revealed all at once, because well, this is a review after all and that's why you're here, right?! I'd say it's a pretty good variety/mix of keepsakes, keep reading for closeups of each!

Day 1: Brotherhood of Steel, laser cut wood ornament measuring approximately 2 5/8"H x 2 1/8"W, hung on a navy blue ribbon

Day 2: 1" Nuka-Cola button. SO SMOL!!

Day 3: Happy Holidays card (blank), measuring 3" x 3". (3 cards)

Day 4: Vault Boy 'perks collage' gift tags, measuring 1 1/2" x 2 1/2". One side has the 'to and from' on it, and the other side has the 'perks collage' art on it. (2 cards)

Day 5: Sunset Sarsaparilla mini print, measuring 8" x 3". Printed only on the front, the back is all black. I'm not sure what type of cardstock this is but it's nice quality and it has a slight sheen to it, the print quality itself looks nice too!

Day 6: Vault-Tec mini notebook, measuring 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and is 6 pages total. There's a really funny Stingwing drawing in the middle of the booklet that I somehow missed, so I added a photo of that plus the back showing the Vault-Tec logo.

Day 7: Vault Boy ornament, measuring approximately 2 3/4"W x 2 3/4"H and printed on cardstock, blank on the backside

Day 8: Vault-Tec mini sticker, measuring 2"W x 1 1/8"H

Day 9: Nuka-Cola gift tags, measuring 1 1/2" x 2 1/2". One side has the 'to and from' on it with Vault Boy holding an oversized Nuka-Cola bottle, and the other side has the classic Nuka-Cola text logo on it. (2 cards)

Day 10: Vault Boy lenticular card, measuring 3 3/8" x 2 3/8" featuring key art from Fallout: New Vegas

Day 11: T-60 Power Armor helmet ornament, measures approximately 3" x 3" and is printed on cardstock. It's blank or printed black on the back

Day 12: Fallout Cookbook recipe cards for Bobrov Brothers' Cabbage Soup and Slow-Roasted Leg of Yao Guai, each card measures approximately 2" x 3 3/4" with the actual recipe printed on the back of the cards

Day 13: Fallout Cookbook recipe cards for Nuka-Cola and Stimpak, each card measures approximately 2" x 3 3/4" because of course you gotta have a drink and dessert to go with your soup and main course, amirite?! (again, the actual recipes are printed on the back of the cards)

Day 14: The Institute coaster, this is oversized as it measures 4" in diameter and is printed on both sides. I'm not sure if I'd ever actually use this as a coaster but it's pretty neat looking!

Day 15: Vault-Tec drink stirrers, measuring 7" tall. I dunno why but I think these are one of my fave things out of this entire advent calendar because it's something I've never thought of?! Plus it's practical and will definitely get used over the holidays to stir some hot chocolate! Yum!

Day 16: Vault Boy mini postcard, 3 1/4" x 2 1/4" would the post office even allow this LOL a single stamp would take up a good bit of space on the back as it is 😅

Day 17: You're S.P.E.C.I.A.L. mini booklet, measuring 2 3/4" x 4 3/4" also yes, Kainé thank you everyone here knows you're special.

Day 18: Vault-Tec magnetic bookmark, unfolded it measures 2" x 1 1/2"and the only reason why I know what this even is, is because I bought some magnetic bookmarks over the summer. LOL Yay for more practical keepsakes, I will definitely be getting use out of this one!

Day 19: Nuka Girl trading card, 2 1/2" x 3 1/4" so it's a standard trading card size if I'm not mistaken? Printed on cardstock, no print on the back (all red)

Day 20: Ghoul paper clip, measuring approximately 1 3/4" tall. Okay, excuse me but I'm gonna need an entire set of paper clips featuring Fallout C.H.A.T. emoji please and thank you!! In fact, make a whole stationary set while you're at it!

Day 21: Vault Boy pencil, umm what did I just say about stationary with Fallout C.H.A.T. emoji?! 👀💦 PLEASE I need an entire stationary set.

Day 22: DO NOT PUSH red button sticker, measuring 2" in diameter. Why am I so amused by this?? Of course I'm gonna push the red button, duh!! 🙄🙄 (based on another Fallout C.H.A.T. emoji art)

Day 23: Fallout C.H.A.T. mini sticker sheet, okay but how cute is this?! This mini sticker sheet measures 3 1/4" x 2 1/4" and has 5 stickers total: Dogmeat, Radioactive 💩, Vault Boy with a Fat Man, Ghoul Couple, and Mini Nuke! It makes me so happy to see all this Fallout C.H.A.T. emoji art being used, because I actually really love the app and I hate that they stopped updating it 😥😥

Day 24: Vault-Tec and Mister Handy trading cards, wait does it still count as trading cards if they're a non-standard size? 🤔 These are the same size as the recipe cards, so 2" x 3 3/4", on the back it's a dark blue background with a single Vault-Tec logo printed in black in the middle of the card.

Day 25: Vault Boy Pop Socket and with this we made it to the final day! Who was expecting a pop socket, because I wasn't 😂 this one measures approximately 1 1/2" in diameter, and well I'll be completely honest I've never seen one designed like this before?! You pull the top part out and can adjust it to grip, or even use it as a kickstand!

Did you pre-order yours already, or will this be a pass for you? I already know that certain people following me won't be impressed by this LMAO 😅 but personally, I think it's awesome that we finally got an advent calendar for Fallout, and I think it's a good mix and variety of product types, I can definitely see this being a hit if you have kids... and for the kids at heart of course! 😉💖 Like I said I was expecting a box for some reason LOL but it being hardcover is a nice touch and will help ensure it lasts in your collection, plus you can always fill up the lil' envelopes with your own goodies later on!!
